The Solhjem Family

To begin this post-we can see the group of visitors to our Concordia Campus family session. These little beauties let me get within 3 feet!

What a wonderful group to work with. I had to tell Jana (momma) that every one of her children were a breath of fresh air. They helped carry my equipment, brought me water, and recovered my shoes from the muddy shores of the pond. Wow..did I actually DO anything? hmm.. And what a group of troopers. The temperatures were somewhere around 'cake baking' hot and I didn't hear one single complaint..unless it came from me. ;)

Thank you Lord for your blessings, especially when they come in tens..;)

Jennifer, Dustin & Tyler

Had to fit in one session while we were on our 'back home' vacation. How awesome it was that I could do the family (very new family) of my cousin Jennifer. Their little Tyler Kai is just about 5 months younger than my Selah. So there was lots of 'labor, 'how's your baby sleeping', adjusting to motherhood' conversation. I'm sure Dustin felt somewhat out of the loop but he was very gracious and didn't show it if he did. We started in Tyler's beautifully lit nursery and ended up at an incredible, tucked away park right on the Arkansas River for some family and engagement shots. The day was beautiful and the session went great-with the exception of the wind insisting on doing as much damage as possible to Jennifer's well done hairdo-BUT with the assistance of Dustin, and some very fast movement-all was well.

Thanks again to both of you, I had a great time and a thousand congratulations on the wedding!

Selah Belle 9 months

It's been too long since I've shared some Selah Belle shots. It's been wonderful to watch all of her little changes. Here are 10 of her most recent:

1. She LOVES her toes, but HATES her socks. The minute she's wearing socks the first thing she does is rip them off...to get to her wonderful toes.
2. She can say momma, dada, and the other day I
think she said 'ninite'
3. She doesn't mind hats at all.
4. She does mind sleep, especially when it's her momma
and daddy.
5. She likes to eat peaches, and anything chicken flavored.
6. It doesn't take her long to decide whether or not she
likes you, and if she does she will reach out to you and rest her head on your shoulder.
7. She has done this to 2 perfect strangers in the past two weeks.
8. She smiles ALL DAY
9. She is very expressive & very emotional- I think she will be one to wear her heart on her sleeve.
10. She is passionately loved by her family.

I remember my mom saying something the day she was born. Kirk and I were talking about how overwhelmed we felt with love for her. Mom said "You go through life thinking you could die for someone, then you have a child-and you know you can" How absolutely true.

Becky and Tyler's One Year Anniversary Pics..

Becky and Tyler will be celebrating their one year wedding anniversary on April 10th. I couldn't have asked for better weather or more cooperative subjects. We started in downtown Grand Forks and in keeping with Becky's mothers tradition, decided to do a few of her in her (beautiful) dress, which we did at the stately, old, photographers dream of a building-Cottonwood Community Church. What a blessing it was to have an oppurtunity to get to know these two. They are an awesome couple and their love for one another is so very evident and beautiful. My prayer for you both is that the Lord would deepen your love and passion for one another as He reveals in each of you 'the height, the length, the width, the depth' of the love He has for you..

Allow me to introduce myself..

I had an epiphany: this is my blog. And I want people to know, should they decide to hire me as their photographer, who exactly they will be working with.

>My name is Savannah Lea Hayes. My first name was stolen from my aunt Celia who was pregnant at the same time as my mom (she had 3 boys thankfully) and I've been called Georgia more times than I can count.

>I was born April 20th 1985, and happily southern born and bred.

>I love to climb anything: trees, ladders, houses, absolutely anything but I'm scared to death of falling from a high place.

>I hate wearing shoes...hate it.

> I decide whether or not I like a chinese restaurant

based on the fried rice

>I have a hot tea every single morning

>I can't stand to be in the presence of a waterbug.

>I love to get dirty but I hate it when my hands are all sticky.

>I have a very unhealthy relationship with cheesecake and my momma's Tuna Salad.

>I used to be dead, but now I'm alive.

(2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he (or she) is a new creation, the old has passed away-behold all things have become new ) AMEN

>I love love LOVE my husband and my sweet baby girl Selah Belle.

>I tend to complain too much about the weather.

>I'm more impatient than I thought I was.

>I am unashamedly a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, He is my every "Why"

>I believe every..single..word of the Bible, I also believe that in those areas I don't understand He will lead me into all truth.

>My desire is to honor Him with every word, every thought, every action.

>I believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ for His Church.

>I believe that to be a child of God, you must be spiritually born again into His family through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

>I believe Jesus is exactly who He said He was: the I AM, and the only way to salvation.

>My identity is found in who I am in Him. (and it wasn't always that way)

>I am often too vain, or insecure and have to remember the above statement.

Among many many other things..

Kelly and Jon Omdahl 2-12-11

Home Renovations!

How wonderful to watch the rooms transform before our eyes...Wouldn't it be nice if that were true, to just WATCH the rooms transform. If that were the case, we..would..be..finished. But since that isn't the case and we all live in reality this will be the first of many "home renovation updates".
A great BIG BIG thank you to everyone who helped (helps, will help), who lent us tools-or gave us tools, and thank you for all the advice and know-how (Daddy)..
